Dresses to be use in Laboratory

In a laboratory, safety is crucial, requiring the minimization of exposure to chemicals, flames, and other hazards. Dresses are not suitable attire for a laboratory due to exposed arms and legs.

  • Instead,  when working in a lab, it's best to prioritize clothing that offers complete coverage. Here's what you should wear in a laboratory:
  • Long pants: Opt for long pants made from a natural fiber like cotton. Avoid loose-fitting pants that could snag on equipment.
  • Long-sleeved shirt: A long-sleeved shirt made from cotton or a cotton blend is ideal.
  • Lab coat: A lab coat will provide an additional layer of protection for your clothes and skin.
  • Closed-toe shoes: Closed-toe shoes will protect your feet from spills and falling objects.

Here are some additional tips for dressing safely in a laboratory:

  • Tie back long hair to prevent it from getting caught in equipment.
  • Remove jewelry that could get caught on equipment or be contaminated with chemicals.
  • Minimize exposed skin by avoiding shorts, skirts, and sleeveless shirts.
