Why is the plasma membrane semiliquid in nature? Explain.

The plasma membrane is semi-liquid in nature because the interior of the phospholipid bilayer is occupied by hydrophobic fatty acid chains, the membrane is impermeable to water-soluble molecules, including ions and most biological molecules. Besides, bilayers of the naturally occurring phospholipids are viscous fluids, not solids.

That is why the plasma membrane is semi-liquid in nature.
