Why does the root of plants is colourless?

The green color of plants are caused by plastid. Leucoplasts are non-pigmented in contrast to other plastids. They are usually found in the cells of the plant parts where usually sunlight does not reach; for example' root, ovaries and embryo. As a result, the plant's roots are colorless.
