Why complex tissue is called conducting tissue?

Tissues that are composed of different types of cells are known as complex tissue. Usually, complex tissue is composed of xylem and phloem tissue. Xylem is composed of tracheid, vessel, xylem parenchyma, and xylem fiber cell. Xylem and phloem both do transportation function in plants and this is why complex tissue is known as conducting tissue.
