State Archimedes law

If a body is immersed in a liquid, the weight of the body is reduced by an amount equal to the displaced liquid.

If an object is partially or completely submerged in a stagnant liquid or gaseous matter then the object seems to have lost a bit of weight. This lost weight is equal to the amount of liquid or gaseous matter abstracted by the object.
