Describe the change in melting point of an object due to pressure.

Variation of pressure on an object has effects on changing the melting point. This can happen in two ways?

1) The substances whose volume reduces while converting from solid to liquid (like ice), their melting point reduces as the pressure increases. They get melted in less temperature.

2) The substances whose volume increase while converting from solid to liquid (like ice), their melting point increases as the pressure increases. They get melted at high temperatures.
