Why alkenes are most reactive than an alkane?

Due to carbon-carbon double bonds in Alkenes, they are chemically very active. Because one of the bonds is comparatively weak through another one is strong. During the reaction, the weak bond breaks and takes part in additional reactions. In Alkanes there is only one strong bond, so they do not take part in chemical reactions easily.
