What is glass fire?

The Glass Fire is an ongoing wildfire in Northern California. It started on September 27, 2020, at 3:48 AM from an unknown cause. The fire has destroyed a number of structures and forced the evacuation of several thousand residents. As of the evening of September 27, the fire was zero percent contained and growing rapidly. Initially a single fire, the Glass fire merged with two smaller fires during the night of 27 into 28 September.
