Why does a moving car come to rest after applying break? Explain.

After applying break, a retarding force causes the velocity of a moving car to gradually decrease. That means negative acceleration or deceleration takes place. Because of this negative acceleration, the velocity of a moving gradually decreases to zero and comes to rest.

What is retardation? Physics

The rate of decrease in velocity of a body with time is called retardation or deceleration. The preferred term in physics to describe the decrease in an object’s velocity is deceleration.  Deceleration is simply the negative of acceleration or a change in velocity where the final velocity is less than the initial velocity.  It is … Read more

What is called quantity?

Quantity is a property that can exist as a multitude or magnitude, which illustrate discontinuity and continuity.

What is fundamental quantity?

The physical quantities which are independent or neutral that is, they do not depend on other quantity, rather other quantities depend on them, are called fundamental quantities.  What is fundamental quantity? In physics and other sciences, a fundamental quantity is a physical property that can’t be expressed in terms of any other physical quantities. It’s … Read more

What type of motion is heartbeat?

Heartbeat is a type of periodic motion. The heartbeat can be classified into two main types of motion, depending on how you look at it: 1. Periodic motion: When viewed from the perspective of time, the heartbeat is a periodic motion. This means that it repeats itself at regular intervals, with each cycle consisting of a … Read more
