Why the animals of the subphylum - Urochordata are called sea sequins?

The animals of the subphylum Urochordata are mainly sea animals. Some of their species can expel water like a fountain with the help of siphons. For this reason, they are called sea fountains or sequins. The matured animals stay submerged and remain permanently attached to an object to expel water.
