What is the harmful effect of using excessive pesticides?

The important elements of the environment, soil, and water get severely contaminated when pesticides are used excessively. Again, excessive use of pesticides lessens the fertility of the soil and causes pollution. Besides, pesticides pollute water by getting mixed in water and reaching rivers and ponds.
